custom made & unique
Bent’s seats and tables are lovingly handmade, honouring every material and its spirit. We also have an uncompromising attitude towards refining joinery details to their purest form. Most of our furniture is made without nails during construction. For example ‘the plantation bench’ has all parts coming together; locking into place with just wooden keys. In the ‘chipokke wooden lounger’ too, all wooden parts lock into place because of the seat’s inherent geometry and a little bit of adhesive alone.
We believe in using natural oil finishing techniques on our hardwood furniture. We do not use any synthetic or water based sprays. The idea is to retain wood’s natural sheen and keep it breathing in its natural state. This way it allows every piece to patina naturally with time. Large and wide hardwood planks (e.g. table tops) are retained as they are with their outer bark, knots, growth marks, holes, cracks and crevices. They are cleaned up with sand paper and finally finished with natural oil. This makes every piece unique and distinctive.
