method: score bottle with any glass cutter, tie cotton thread over the score, douse the thread with spirit, burn it till flame goes out and immerse it immediately in water. use zippo fuel and ice cold water for better results!

yea…we did grind the edges off a little…though the cut is usually a clean one!

you can tuck in any translucent paper inside the bottle, that can act as a diffuser…
