Is it a crib? Is it a rocking chair?
Yusuf was inspired by his daughter’s birth and wanted to make her a beautiful crib to celebrate his joy. His wife’s rocking chair was also long overdue. Combining the two made perfect sense and that’s how the “Cribber” came about.
The design is influenced by the Shakers who made austere and simple artefacts and believed that making something well was in itself, “an act of prayer”. Made of Burma Teak, no screws or hardware have been used in the construction process. It follows clean and simple lines and uses traditional woodworking techniques.
The “Cribber” has been passed on from friend to friend and Yusuf hopes someday it will come full circle and his daughter will use it to celebrate her children!
